Mike Jacobs, Dawn Hood & David Jacobs Join Trauma2 Records

In a big Monday morning announcement, Ted Field, Rob Kahane and Thomas E. van Dell have formed Trauma2 Records bringing with them some major Alternative promotion executives including Mike Jacobs, Dawn Hood and David Jacobs.

When contacted about the position, new Sr. VP Mike Jacobs said, “we currently have three acts signed of which two will be released in 2012.” When Alternative Contraband pried to get the band names, Jacobs politely told us shut the hell up.

Congrats to all. Below is the official press release

***********************************************
We are pleased to announce the formation and launch of Trauma 2 Records, LLC, a division of Radar Pictures, LLC.

Trauma 2 Records was founded by music industry veterans Ted Field (Interscope)(CEO), Rob Kahane (Trauma Records) (President, Trauma 2 Records) and Thomas E. van Dell (Universal Music Group) (COO, Radar/Trauma2), as part of the new 360 model with Radar Pictures that is integrating the platforms of music, film, and television. This cross platform approach enables the company to sign music artists and break them through its television and film capabilities.  Once they are signed to Trauma 2, artists may expect not just placement of their music in Radar’s films and television shows but also the development of specific TV and film properties appropriate to their image and designed to make them multi-media stars. This may include reality TV shows, small music related films built around them, and, when appropriate and when their acting ability permits, roles in larger films or television series Radar may be producing.

Regarding the new venture, Ted Field stated, “The team that Radar has put together is capable of crossing artists into more than one entertainment vertical. Few companies are currently thinking this way and Radar has a close knit, nimble staff that communicates about opportunities between divisions in real time on an ongoing basis. I’m particularly excited about this integrated multi-platform approach.”

Trauma 2 Records has completed a deal with Jay Boberg for distribution through INgrooves Fontana that includes upstreaming to Universal Republic.

Joining the group as Senior Vice President Promotion will be longtime friend and promotion veteran, Mike Jacobs.  “I am so excited for the opportunity to go back to the deep end of the pool and return to the site of some of the best moments of my career; Trauma (2) with Rob, where we also have way too much fun.    I also have such respect for Ted as a pioneer with Interscope and Death Row, where I was also involved with the first two Rock records (NIN and Primus).  With the new model that Ted, Rob and Tom have created, we will have huge successes and break new ground again,” stated Jacobs.

Joining him as part of the promotion team will be Dawn Hood as Vice President, Promotion and David Jacobs as Vice President, West Coast Promotion.
